Former New York Times correspondent and Pulitzer Prize winner Sheryl
WuDunn has been named anchor and principal writer for Page One,
Discovery Times Channel's three-minute nightly window on the next day's top stories
in The New York Times.
The channel, a co-venture between Discovery Communications Inc. and the Times, is
a revamp of Discovery's digi-net, Discovery Civilization Channel, with an emphasis on
WuDunn's new job will return her to the paper's newsroom.
She had been a project director for strategic planning for the company after
an 11-year career as a correspondent.
Page One premieres, along with the channel revamp, March 25 at 10 p.m.
In April 2002, the Times paid $100 million for a half interest in the
channel, which reaches about 25 million homes.
