Meet the Press

They said Brokaw's comment "paint[ed] an inaccurate picture of the race for voters.", which supports Obama, was unhappy because Brokaw ended the debate with the observation that, "In fairness to everyone, [McCain] continues to lead" in the polls in the category of "best equipped to be commander in chief" by a factor of 53%-45%.

It turns out in the last two NBC polls, Obama actually topped McCain, according to, and NBC confirmed to the group that Brokaw was referring to a poll taken several weeks ago just after the Republican convention.

A Meet the Press spokesperson had not returned a call at press time.
