We are looking for a talented experienced and self-motivated individual to work as a Producer in our Washington DC news Center. The ideal candidate will be able to identify stories within the US, Latin America and Canada that have resonance with the rest of the world. The position requires a versatile individual, someone who can book guests, produce long form stories and even work in a control room. All applicants must be able to research and report and find video on their own. The programming department is small and the right candidate must be a team player. That can mean going out on an interview for a different producer's story or booking guests for shows produced out of other broadcast centers. The right journalist will have experience in telling stories that question authority and hold those in power accountable. Must be able to pitch, develop, and execute long form stories and even shows. Strong writing skills essential to perform this job. The producer is expected to cover North and South America. Spanish language skills are a plus, as well as the ability to shoot and edit. She/he must have at least 5 years of experience in producing long form for national and/or international channels.
