DESCRIPTION

SENIOR DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING, IT, AND FACILITIES - UNC-TV, Research Triangle Park, NC, seeks a seasoned leader to manage the engineering broadcast operations, IT, and facilities staff for the 12-station statewide public television network.  This person will provide the leadership and direction to a diverse staff of 66 engineering, IT, and facilities professionals, including oversight of master control operations and maintenance engineering, as well as supervision of transmitter operations and technical facilities.  In addition, the senior director of engineering, IT, and facilities will oversee directors responsible for UNC-TV's Facilities and IT Divisions and will serve as project manager on technical upgrades for all engineering, IT, and facilities installations.  Requires extensive related television network/distribution technical and operational knowledge and network program origination, studio production, post-production, remote and field production knowledge; extensive knowledge of information systems/Internet technologies; and knowledge of managing facilities over a wide geographic area.  Experience as a department head in a multimillion-dollar organization essential.  Requires bachelor's degree in broadcast engineering, electrical engineering, or related field with a minimum of ten years directly related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.  Requires excellent conceptual, communication, project management, and bid preparation/evaluation skills, computer literacy, proven skills in leading and motivating a diverse staff, willingness to travel statewide, and possession of valid driver's license or the ability to obtain NC driver's license within 30 days of hire.  Salary commensurate with qualifications.
