Director, Master Control Operations

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 • Oversight of Network Operations Staff and associated operational practices in support of the E!, Style, G4 and associated partner Networks on a 24x7 basis

 • Ensure support of all workflows with documented Standard Operating Procedures

 • Implementation of regular testing / up to date training of all employees

 • Ensure all broadcast signals adhere to industry specifications on a 24/7 basis

 • Support both live and non-live broadcast environments

 • Establishment of technical specifications and associated deadlines for deliverables that require facilitation by Network Operations

 • Work across Network departments on an on-going basis to remain informed on up coming projects that require support from Network Operations

 • Administration and sign-off on yearly employee performance reviews and goal setting

 • Assist in decision-making process for planned technology implementations in the Network Operations area

 • Liaise and coordinate with NBCU channel partners to help establish synergistic relationships and best practices

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 • Minimum seven years experience in a Network Operations managerial role

 • Intimate understanding of Network Operational systems including automation, server playout, graphics, switching and routing

 • Firm grasp of broadcast / cable television workflows (i.e. transmission, closed captioning, V-Chip, Neilsen Ratings, HD vs SD, etc.)

 • Experience in a file workflow environment (file transfer, transcoding, etc.)

 • Prior experience transmitting live events both Domestically and Internationally

 • Understanding of both Domestic and International affiliate technical requirements with regard to the delivery of cable networks

 • Understanding of union and non-union shops and associated practices

 • Flexibility to work when required (weekends + after hours when needed)
