Chief Engineer                       Full Time

Supervise and schedule the station's technical operations and maintenance personnel.  Duties include systems management (troubleshooting, repair, reboot schedules, back-ups, and upgrades) to broadcast automation equipment.  The Chief Engineer is responsible for ensuring adequate operational coverage for business continuity.  Review daily discrepancy reports and work with other departments to implement the necessary process improvements to maintain on-air operations and minimize discrepancies.   

Qualified candidates must demonstrate strong systems-based understanding of Avid (Interplay preferred), Chyron Graphics, and Control Room automation experience with systems such as Sony ELC, Florical, Miranda iTX, or Harris Louth.  In addition to knowledge of IT-based master control systems, the candidate should have previous experience with Video over IP, and exhibit strong television broadcasting experience including a familiarity with large-scale news operations and production with a proven record in implementing preventative maintenance programs.  A strong RF background and solid knowledge of PC based applications is necessary. 

For facilities management, the Chief Engineer will act as a liaison with outside contractors to coordinate equipment installation including HVAC Fire and Security Systems.  Also, the Chief Engineer will assist in Engineering project planning and implementation and maintain Plant Documentation, therefore proven communications and collaboration skills are necessary.   Willingness to complete other duties as work a flexible schedule, including some nights and/or weekends during live programming and major sporting events will be required.
