Nielsen Moves February 2009 Sweep to March

Nielsen is moving the February 2009 sweeps to March to avoid the "potential disruptions" associated with the switch to digital. It will also begin testing ratings collection on digital-only stations in December 2008.

Building B Rebrands, Makes Spectrum Pitch to Stations

Building B, a venture-backed startup that aims to market a single set-top device that marries broadcast and broadband video for display on living-room TVs, rebranded itself as Sezmi Corp. and announced that it will partner with broadcast stations to deliver part of its service using their digital spectrum.

Comcast Earnings Solid Despite Decline in Cable-TV Subscribers

MLB Advanced Media Renews Deal with Ensequence

MLB Advanced Media, the new-media arm of Major League Baseball, awarded a three-year contract extension to Ensequence, the Portland, Ore.-based interactive-TV company that provides the technology for MLB.TV Mosaic, an Emmy Award-winning online-video application that lets PC users view six live games simultaneously while tracking statistics on their favorite players and teams.

The FCC gave cable operators until July 15 to file their annual reports outlining channel placements, rates, usage and complaints related to leased access. Those reports had been due April 30.
