We had the good fortune of getting a peek at NBC Local Media’s New York Nonstop channel, which launches Monday, earlier this week. Despite Mother Nature’s best efforts to keep us snowed in, we also got a tour of the cutting-edge “content center” facilities at 30 Rock, along with a sitdown with several key people involved in the launch of the digital channel. I tried my best to sneak off with WNBC’s 103-inch plasma HD monitor, but couldn’t fit the thing under my coat.
Our cover story on New York Nonstop, a key development in NBC’s progressive local media strategy, comes out Monday. Until then, here’s a video tour of the facility along with a little info on the channel from WNBC President/GM Tom O’Brien and VP of News Vickie Burns.
