Fly on the Wall – Someone’s Not Fasting

October 9, 2008

If you are fasting this Yom Kippur, please be forewarned that you are about to read about some food. And I apologize if I make your fast more difficult.

Here’s the latest from the Fly on the Wall newswire: I’m going to actually have to call Sugar Ray bandleader and former Extra host Mark McGrath out on a little stalking here.

He and I **apparently** had the very same idea for lunch today. I mean, the very same.

He stepped up behind me in line this afternoon at my neighborhood Baja Fresh on Sunset near Fairfax in gym clothes. After I ordered two steak tacos (no onions, spicy) for the first time (usually it’s an Enchilado-style burrito for me) for my quick and oh-so-glamorous cuisine, I heard McGrath order tacos too (no onions, mild; and I am pretty sure he asked for six — three of one kind, three of another), along with a quesadilla.

Good idea, McGrath. Tacos. And hey wait a minute. I once worked for Extra too. … So “When It’s Over,” are you going to be blogging from Mark’s Diner as well?
