NBC News' Brian Williams on His Food Court Diet
Brian Williams certainly leads an adventurous life as anchor of NBC Nightly News, but his taste in food is decidedly unexotic. He was not raised an adventurous eater, and has never eaten Ethiopian or Korean food, he tells Parade in their report this weekend What America Really Eats.
Says Williams:
It doesn’t help that I am blissfully in love with mall food courts. My problem is limiting the choices. I will do a slice at Sbarro, or I’ll go to A&W—their cheeseburgers are underrated, and need I say more about a cold mug of frosty root beer? Cinnabon exhaust fumes have a hold over me like crack cocaine would over an addict. And when I’m on the road and see that friendly Arby’s, Cracker Barrel, or Waffle House sign, it might as well read, "Brian, Welcome Home."

Think of the hurry to buy uggs on sale!
Andy commented:
I just pictured Brian Williams walking into a food court and getting heckled by the two rival Chinese food stands throwing free samples at him. I feel like that's his happy place.

And let's not forget that Panda Chinese place in most food courts!
Marianne commented:
Brian Williams would love Cape Cod where I now live and there isn't much in the way of fine dining.
I remember how ticked off my Cape friends where when the NYT's travel reporter called the cuisine here mediocre. He was right.
