Philly Stuff

February 20, 2008

We set our sights on Philadelphia today. Sometimes, a lot of news happens in one place. Such is the case today and the last few days…it’s all happening in the City of Brotherly Love. First stop…

CN8, the Comcast Network, has named a new Senior Director of Network Production. It’s BRIAN MCLENDON. It’s a promotion, actually. The Pennsylvania native (he was raised in Reading) now will handle all of the network’s production efforts from CN8’s six studios in Baltimore, Boston, Delaware, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. areas, plus keep the production staff for CN8’s fleet of mobile units and production trucks on the ball. Brian was part of the CN8 launch and will report to VP and GM JON GORCHOW. Cool!

ELIZABETH HUR is the newest addition to CBS’ KYW newsroom in The Rebel City (yep, Philly has TWO nicknames!).  She’ll be checking in after a year of freelancing at WCBS in NYC. Elizabeth, who was born in Seoul, S. Korea (and speaks the Korean fluently) and was raised in Ambler, PA. She’s no stranger to KYW…she interned there, as well as with 20/20, NY1 News and CBS Evening News. She’s also been part of the news teams at KTVX in Salt Lake City and Capital News 9 in Albany, NY. She’s a grad of NYU.  Congrats!

That’s the news from Philly. Tomorrow, who knows…
