Jobs Taking Medical Leave of Absence
January 14, 2009
COO Tim Cook will take over Apple’s leadership in the meantime.
Jobs’ told employees in an email today that his health problems are "more complex" than he originally thought, and so will step aside until the end of June to take care of his health and to stop being a distraction.
While I still think Apple’s PR — or perhaps Jobs himself — could have handled this entire situation better from the beginning by just being honest, now I feel badly for Apple’s CEO. He’s obviously sick and struggling. It’s not a great place for anyone to be in.
