Apple's PR: Job Well Done or Job Well Botched?
January 13, 2009
Linking to this article at Ad Age is pretty much me virtually agreeing with myself.
Last week, I posted a blog opining that Apple’s PR team has really botched the handling of Steve Jobs’ illness or lack thereof and his concurrent non-appearance at this year’s MacWorld.
In this Ad Age article, Macworld Chief Jason Snell discusses much of that – including Apple’s “throwing MacWorld under the bus” in order to distract people from Jobs’ rumored condition – in great detail. I found this Q&A thorough and thoughtful on the parts of both the interviewee and the interviewer, which is something I can’t often say. It’s worth a read if you are at all interested in what’s happening at Apple.
