MSNBC Reins It In

September 3, 2008

Congratulations to MSNBC for pulling itself together and looking like a news network again.

What a change from last week, when the cable net’s coverage of the Democratic National Convention turned into a cringe-inducing display of juvenile bickering among on-air personalities Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough and David Shuster.

For its coverage of the Republican National Convention on Tuesday, things were notably more disciplined, with Olbermann “quarterbacking” from New York City (as NBC News chief Steve Capus put it to B&C’s Marisa Guthrie), Matthews several states away, in St. Paul, and solid contributions from NBC News grown-ups Tom Brokaw, Andrea Mitchell, David Gregory and Chuck Todd.

Still, last week’s drama left an air of tension whenever Olbermann and Matthews were paired up on a split-screen. I couldn’t help but imagine that one of them might suddenly reach across the frame and strangle the other.

I find laughable that two grown men who have had years of dishing out their opinions react with such distain when a freshman politician refers to the "Elite Media" and takes a shot across their bow.
You would have thought she burned down the church with them in it. MSNBC's Oberman and Matthews often cast aside neutral ground with comment after comment... then can't get over a little bloody nose when Sara has the microphone.
Get over it!! Your suppose to be the professional talent .. not cry babies!!

Let's hope MSNBC& CNN and the others will do the right thing and thoroughly expose Srah Palin's preacher for what he is - another Reverend Wright. We know FOX NEWS will never cover it properly.

Watching the Republican freak show can only be tolerated with NBC's Keith Olbermann. I dare you to take him off - there'd be riots with plumes of black smoke at their headqaurters. after 8 years of Imbred's I mean imbeds la la happy bush talk of mushroom clouds and on and on and on cheering the Iraq war with shock and awe - finally another perspective at last.

Otherwise it's a loud "

Right-Wingers, have no shame? Why do you hate this country? Republicans are sending the US into the hole and you still want McCain in office? I don't get it, have you no shame. It's time vote for a Democrat and not a scu...a Republican.

She is a member of a group that wants to break from the United States. Mrs. Palin is an Extremist and Mr. Matthews just pointed that out sorry if the truth hurts.

I just wanted to comment that MSNBC is hypocritical. It starts with Chris Matthews whom expresses indignation regarding his treatment of the RNC VP nominee. Yet he presented the false tabloid article about Sarah Palin on the air, on Monday just to promote controversy. He also continously repeated false rumors, as being fact that she was involved in a seperatist movement.
Then challenges anyone regarding his right to make polictical judgements. This was after the DNC convention where he and his counterpart Oberman made love on the air with everything being presented.
Most recently Keith Oberman the man with continuous opinions that are not always accurate, though he feels elitist enough to presume they are, insulted viewers. Besides consistently making negative comments after every presentation during the RNC, he gratuitously feighned regret for a 9-11 remembrance for the victims of the terrorist attack that occurred that day. It is obvious that MSNBC is just trying to make headlines and controversy for their own benefit. Other stations including CNN, and C-Span have presented these serious discussions in a more even handed manner. From here here on out, I consider the nbc cable channel as a minor league operation with a bias that is beyond acceptance. CNN,Fox and C-SPAN are channels to be followed to receive a more accurate representation of the worlds events.

There needs to be at least one channel that approaches reality, that the average Cable subscriber can see. Even Olbermann is limited in where he can go and what he can talk about.

Actual facts only have a left spin when the propaganda and fraud are all that is visible elsewhere.

For more actual facts see Real News and Democracy Now. Both have verifiable information that even KO cannot get into.

I only hope there are enough folk who can find this stuff on the Internet to eventually restore a media that reports fact and not fraud.

Keith is getting his revenge and showing Tweety who's boss by not letting him talk when they're on split-screen. He's so smooth about it, Tweety can't say or do anything.

Well, as far as I can tell, the only difference is that this time Olbernmann is a thousand miles away.
