Baiul's Joke No Laughing Matter
ABC's Master of Champions was one of the stranger shows in recent times, it has promise but needs to get just a bit more cheesy to really be that wonderfully bad TV that really works in the summer.
But a line from judge Oksana Baiul was bordering on disgusting. After one of the contestants drove a race car around to try and shred a cheese block, the former Olympic skater made a joke to the effect that she knows something about driving fast.
The problem: she was arrested in 1997 for driving drunk.
Was she referring to this, or something else? I'm not sure, but I don't find putting other people's lives in danger funny at all — so I sincerely hope for her sake — and ABC's — it was not the former.

Baiul rules. She is a poor orphaned immigrant has made it in America and she's a figther. She has to survive all kinds of sleaze and backbiting in showbiz since she was a kid. This kid survived a nation falling apart, goind without food, money transportation. She prevails against the skanky white slut american skating mafia who use the media to try to destroy any woman who doesn't fit into the little phony white girl mode. Who are you dogs to keep throwing a past mistake into a person like baiul's face. You got dirt in your past yourself you phony. Nobody got killed thats the point. You need to examin yourself you are not without sin. There's a story behind the "story." I admire Baiul for her tenacity in the face of a storm of hate and xenophobia disguised as concern. It stinks. Go ahead get jealous.
