All networks have a perspective and CNN and MSNBC have a perspective on their commentary, but the administration is not trying to call them talking heads for the left. Americans are now saddled with UAW pension obligations as a result of GM bailouts. The goverment is bankrupt. The government can't roll out H1N1 vaccine on schedule (too little too late - half the children in class are out sick with flu). The only vaccine that has been distributed is to free clinics in poor areas. Why would we trust our lives to government? Banks are hoarding cash. Stimulus funds go only to union contractors which are a minority of contracting firms. Money is being wasted on projects that serve no useful purpose.

It depends on the show. Sean Hannity is definitely a conservative (as he openly claims) and argues one side of issues. He's the only one. The rest are pretty balanced, I actually believe OReilly is an independent or votes Democrat, he presents both sides and gives his guests the last word. Beck is mislabeled a conservative--definitely a freedom loving Libertarian and constitutionalist that is down on loose interpretations of the constitution (that tend to come from the leftists)and he is disgusted by the blatant lying and corruption (mostly coming from the left at this time because they are the ones in power). I enjoy most their shows and guests and just wished they had fewer commercials.

What's really amazing is that the majority of the on air employees of Fox seem to be registered Democrats (I've been watching Fox News for years now). Obama thinks that Fox is "too conservative" and "not really a news organization."

While I don't watch Fox News on TV I do use the web site to get another perspective to other news outlets. I don't see why the WH is getting their panties on wad. The fact is that CNN and other MSM venues claim they are no-bias but it’s not always about running negative Obama news. Bias can also be present by purposely NOT running negative news. As an Independent I go to as many different sources Left and Right to get a more rounded idea of what the true is. Those who on the Right who defend Fox against bias and those on the Left that claim all the other MSM are not in the tank for Obama, should stop spending precious time debating the issue. Fox leans Right and the other MSM venues are clearly leaning Left. One only needs to list the top news stories on the home pages of these sites to see this. It is obvious to anyone without an agenda. The reason I like fox is that I constantly am getting stories I NEVER see on the other MSM. That has to be more than coincidence. The left leaning sites obviously don’t run stories that show Obama in a bad light. That is OK but don’t attack the one source of news that runs stories you would never see on their own sites. That is fundamentally the against the Free Speech this country is built on.

Even Mark Lamont Hill, recently fired by Fox News liberal, readily recognizes MSNBC and CNN are further to the left than Fox is to the right. That the administration hates Fox so much only shows how far to the left they are than the American public. I keep waiting and hoping Obama will recognize he needs to shake up his staff and bring in centrists. I'm ok with Obama being far left, and while he may personally be willing to listen to oposing views, his administration' staff are not. That is a dangerous formula for running the entire country, parts of the world, and protecting all American's future, not just Chicago and not just one party.

Every time I watch Fox News, I see very little opinion, while a couple of commentators in the 24H news cycle have programs that are pointing out serious flaws in this administration and it's policies, the news is real. Contrary to the other networks that always has a sense of emotional slant.

I do not expect any less from the current President, and I, for one, vow to fight for the continued right for all Americans to offer any public opinion they desire. Just because you disagree doesn't mean it will cease to exist.

The government may think they are running a government for the people, but it's actually only for those who are on board with their policies. I think FOX NEWS is doing a great job, with some of the best of the best in the news business today. The new Obamanation we all live in today seems to have lost track with the truth and seem to be running our beloved country into a train wreck, with no one taking the lead. Why does the White House's attacks on Fox News and the mainstream media's reticence to follow FNC news stories like Acorn and Van Jones remind me of Hugo Chavez's attempts to silence, manipulate and control the media in Venezuela?

I never watched Fox News until I heard all the comments from The White House about it. I used to watch/listen to MSN/CNN. Now all I watch/listen to is Fox News. So much better, upbeat, positive, fair and balanced. All of my friends are now checking out Fox News. Thank you President Obama.

And I agree that's what's Fox is doing - objectively reporting.No one, not even the networks themselves, believes that ABC, CBS, NBC are anything other than wholly in the box for OBAMA - we all know it. The problem is that if you report what the Administration is actually doing - objectively - it looks very very VERY bad. And that's what the Administration objects to - telling the truth, objectively. They see anything other than complete loyalty as traitorous because they are so used to people telling them how fantastic they are. The fact that they can't govern - all they know how to do is to campaign - is becoming more and more evident. The guy simply isn't up to the job, and there's no way to hide it.

I think that Fox is as fair and balanced and MSNBC. I am an indepenent. I like to get my news from multiple sources, but I can tell you for sure that Fox leans way right, even in their 'news' stories. The same though can be said for MSNBC and CNN, which both lean left, even in their 'news' stories. Only a pure lefty or righty will say that 'their' channel is fair and balanced, the rest of America who are in the middle know better. It will be interesting to see how the administration handles this problem. They appear to be moving in the direction of new legislation to control and/or curtail all talk radio and cable TV that is critical of their performance. The major networks are already in their pockets, thus no comments from the administration. If we loose FOX and talk radio we will need to listen to foreign news to find out what is really happening within the USA. It's a dark day for the USA

The Obama administration has walked into the same trap the Clinton administration did, but it had no excuse. I recall George Stephnanopolus talking about how he choked on his drink when Clinton said ". . . the problem is, I can only be on tv for an hour then Rush Limbaugh will get on for 3 hours a day . . ." After that he told Clinton that you never say your enemy's name in that context.
This administration is either too incompetent to handle a simple issue the right way, or too arrogant to care if they do. That had better change if Obama wants to accomplish anything.

Fact of the matter is, if you change the names, dates, and places, most of what happened then is happening now in the U.S. Why is it that European countries like Germany are moving back towards free market capitalism while we are moving further to the Left?

I think Ms Carey is niave. See the Politico headline story today. The White House machine is actively seeking to marginalize their opponents and draw attention away from the message to the messenger. Add today's highlighting of the HHS's propaganda web site, and congressional attempts to change antitrust regs for insurance carriers (another industry on Obama's enemies list) and the story becomes clearer. It's not Fox that needs to be worried but Democracy itself. Meanwhile most dems appear to be pleased with the government efforts to silence their critics.
