As part of a rebranding strategy (Oxygen: Live Out Loud – wasn’t that a movie with Holly Hunter and Queen Latifah?), Oxygen unveiled Oxygen Everywhere, a “multiplatform strategy that puts the network in front of its young, female audience everywhere they are.” That includes a new video player, o2.oxygen.com, and a new mobile site at wap.oxygen.com. Oxygen also will relaunch its Website, Oxygen.com, in June.
Yahoo! reported Q1 2008 earnings that beat analysts’ expectations, but the impressive results may not be enough to boost Microsoft’s takeover bid or fend off a hostile takeover, according to MediaPost. Q1 revenues were $1.8 billion, a 9% increase over the prior year, while gross profits were $1.06 billion, an 11% increase compared to 2007.
TBS.com has begun offering full episodes of Sony’s Seinfeld, with four episodes in rotation at a time. Right now, you can see one of four very famous episodes: “The Truth,” “The Muffintops,” “The Yada Yada” and “The Millenium.”
Democratic Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) may have lost Pennsylvania but he has by far the largest number of online video views, according to Nielsen Online. Obama notched 518,000 unique video views in March, compared to Sen. Hillary Clinton’s 351,000 and Sen. John McCain’s paltry 38,000.
