Brief online guide to the Iowa Caucuses
January 3, 2008

First, let me say, holy crap! The Iowa Caucuses are tonight. Aren’t these usually in February? We are going to be so sick of these people come November.

Anyway, if you don’t want to spend the night glued to CNN or MSNBC, here are a few places you can go to learn about what’s happening and to check on how things are panning out. Ain’t the Internet great?

Democratic results – of course the Ds’ process is much more complicated than the Rs …

Republican results – who just raise their hands and count ‘em up. Did you know that the poor Iowans actually have to leave their home and go to a neighbor’s or a church or a school and sit through a caucus meeting? No wonder only 6% of the 2.9 million Iowans show up.

Here are many interesting facts about Iowa and the caucuses in one place, complete with handy graphics, because it is USA Today, after all.

And here’s everything you wanted to know about the caucuses but were reasonably afraid to ask, powered by the GazetteOnline.com.
