[9 p.m. Won’t Be So Rosie]
Rosie O’Donnell’s 9 p.m. show on MSNBC is dead. After leaking the fact that she was negotiating for the show, network execs backed off, or so says the former daytime staple. The sticking point was supposedly the length of the contract, as a one year deal would have left MSNBC unable to monetize the boost in ratings such a move could make. Of course, no one could say it better than Rosie herself, from her blog:

2day there is no deal
poof
my career as a pundit is over
b4 it began

Can we please get a primetime show written in haiku already?

[Why Doesn’t He Say How He Really Feels?] NBC Entertainment chief (and man about town) Ben Silverman has some harsh words for competitors Steve McPherson (ABC) and Kevin Reilly (Fox).

“Traditionally, development executives rise through a specific subsection of the TV business - prime-time, network, scripted programming. They're basically D-girls. That's what Steve McPherson is, that's what Kevin Reilly is. That's bad vernacular, but they're all D-girls,” said Silverman in an interview to Esquire.

D-girls, apparently, is a “derogatory TV industry term for cute young development executives with little power,” says the NY Post’s Page Six.

[No More TCA? No More 24? NOOO!] The writers strike might be the beginning of the end for the January TCA meetings, which have grown to be cumbersome and expensive.

Fox hit 24 has been put on permanent hiatus until the strike ends, so fans who can’t get enough waterboarding will have to count on Fox News’ intrepid Steve Harrigan.

Showrunners turned out in full force yesterday… here is a photo gallery of the striking writer/producers.

[I Think I’m Turning Japanese I Really Think So] NBC Universal bought Japanese cable telecommunications company JSBC2, a subsidiary of Jupiter Telecommunications. The plan is to launch a localized Sci Fi Channel on the networks.

[Fox’s Business Needs a Boost From Fox Business] News Corp. earning dropped 13% from a year ago. Come on guys, get that Wall Street Journal thing going… I’m sure there is some money to be made there, right?

[Umm… What?] A Priest in Boston has been arrested for stalking NBC Late Night host Conan O’Brien. David Ajemian was arrested while trying to enter a taping of the show last week. He had sent a number if threatening letters to the host, dating back to last December. The two may have attended Harvard at the same time, according to a report.
