Raising the Bar
March 19, 2008
Family Court with Judge Penny promises to raise the bar for the viewer in so many ways. I am excited that as the judge, I will be given the opportunity to continue to deal with the real life issues that so many people face everyday of their lives. I want the viewers to be able to watch the show and walk away with information that they can use in their own lives; while dealing with issues that come up because of children, spouses, siblings, and with others. Family issues can always be very challenging to deal with on many levels. The cases will be tough, provocative, yet interesting. This court show is expected to connect with viewers because very few people can say that they have not faced a family crisis or relationship issue at some point in their lives. Family Court with Judge Penny will give me the forum to continue to deal with the real people who happen to have real issues and are looking for someone to help.
As the judge, I am prepared to decide issues other court shows have avoided, such as domestic abuse, reckless parenting, substance abuse cases and cases involving relationship disputes. I bring to the show significant judicial experience because I have spent nearly a decade sitting as an actual judge hearing these cases on a daily basis. Not only do I have judicial experience, but I ask the questions the viewers want answered. After all, a judge should not lose her common sense just because she puts on a robe. I bring to the court an openness that allows people to immediately understand that my wisdom not only comes from my judicial experience, but from the difficult life I have had to live from childhood. I was raised by a single mother who worked hard and taught me life lessons that go into every decision I make. Family Court with Judge Penny promises to be a show that people will want to watch everyday for years to come.
