Sell it baby, sell it! Lots of great news from the world of Sales, so instead of pointing to a Marketing Monday, let’s wrap up the month with a sales push.
Perhaps it’s the hint of Spring in the air, but
A&E Television Network is putting together their sales folks in a new way – reminds me of tackling the spring cleaning. Putting together a one-stop-shopping kind of situation, A&E has named the lovely
MELINDA MCLAUGHLIN to SVP of Insights and Marketing Solutions. She’s the leader, bringing here ad agency research background to the table. Research is such a good thing; they named
DON ROBERT VP of Corporate Research and Consumer Insight. Hurray! A man who brings the consumer to the table! He’s got a fab background at NBCU, Katz and ABC. Wait…there’s more.
MARCELA TABARES joins AETN as Vice President, Ad Sales Research and
CHRIS LENGE joins AETN as Vice President, Sales Strategy.
DEB TARNOK has been promoted to Senior Director, Ad Sales Marketing and
JULYA FRIDMAN Hired as Director Distribution and New Media Research. Thanks to
MEL BERNING, Executive Vice President, Ad Sales for all the info. No, there will not be a quiz. Well, maybe there will be.

ION Media Networks grabbed
BLAINE ROMINGER to be Sr. VP, National-Local-Cable Long Form Sales. The USC grad gets to stay in LA. He’s been with Time Warner in a sales exec position as well as Oakland’s FOX KTVU. Over in Second City,
IAN MAHONEY is on board as VP, Network Sales Midwest. Ian - whose name is just lovely don’t you agree?- has worked in the sales management world at truTV back when it was called Court TV, MyNetwork TV, and NBCU. Yes, he’s a member of the VP Club. Rounding out the team is
ROBERT MARINO who’s now Director, Network Sales New York. He’s coming over from VP New York Sales AMC/WETV Networks. He’s also been an AE for FOX Family/ABC Family as well as worked for Wells, Rich & Greene Advertising. He’s a St. John’s Grad. You three cover the whole US!
And finally, one more for today. Mickey is taking a worldview and appointing
PETER FITTON to the new role of Vice President, International Sales, Disney Media Advertising Sales and Marketing Group. It’s based in Burbank, but they didn’t tell me more about Mr. F. He sounds very interesting.
