Discover Who Has New Jobs

St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, is the first day that Oklahoma native STEPHANIE CROSWAIT begins as News D director of Hearst’s KOCO in the Sooner State’s capital. A grad of Oklahoma State U, Stephanie and family will be moving from Columbus, Ohio, where she was Assistant News Director for WBNS. She’s worked at KJRH and KOTV in Tulsa, WTHR in Indy, WMC in Memphis, among other stops on the way. Good work, Stephanie!

You probably know Silver Spring, Maryland is home of Discovery Communications. Did you know Discovery’s headquarters are considered to be one of the THE landmarks there? Yep, it’s true. This DC suburb is home to DC, which has news- the appointment of CLARK BUNTING to be President of the newly created Emerging Networks group, reporting to CEO DAVID ZASLAV.  Clark is a 22-year vet of DC who came up with Shark Week, which has done wonders for them. He’ll be dealing with the programming, marketing, scheduling, development and online efforts for Science Channel, Investigation Discovery (ID), and Military Channel, giving up being President of Discovery Studios. Taking his old job is CAROLE TOMKO. Carole’s new title is in addition to her duties as GM of Discovery Health Channel,  FitTV and Discovery Kids Channel. She’ll report to Discovery COO MARK HOLLINGER. Great to hear, everybody.

While we’re talking Silver Spring, got more info from Discovery. They’re named DARIN PRILL Senior Vice President, Architecture and Development, reporting to Chief Information Officer, DAVID KLINE. No, it’s not building architecture...it’s all about IT. Darin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from SUNY Excelsior College.  Super.

Just up the road in NYC comes word that Viacom’s LOGO has upped LISA SHERMAN to be EVP, General Manager, shedding her Sr. VP title. Before joining Logo, she served as Senior Vice President and Group Account Director at the New York office of Hill, Holliday Connors, Cosmopulos, part of the Interpublic and has been an exec at Verizon. Way to go!
