Happy Holidays!!
It’s that time of year again. Time for family and friends, traditions and celebrations. Each year my wife and I head back to her hometown in East Texas to celebrate the holidays with family. It’s a tiny town way out in the country with no malls or movie theaters, in fact the only restaurant around for miles is Dairy Queen. Free from distractions, it’s a great time to reflect on the past year’s events and contemplate on what we can do better next year. It’s funny, as I look back on 2007 and the many blessings for which I am grateful, I notice a recurring theme. It’s never the material things that come to mind. The things that I am most grateful for are the relationships in my life. 2007 was a great year for cultivating new friendships. Thanks to Merv Griffin’s Crosswords, I’ve met so many wonderful people this year. Everyone involved with Crosswords has been incredible. They’re smart, hardworking and lots of fun. Looks like ol’ Merv also knew how to gather a great team. I’m also very grateful for the friendships I’ve made at the local stations around the country. I’ve been in parades in Pittsburgh, watched a Bears game from the field in Chicago, had a great history lesson from Frank in NY, watched a magnificent fireworks show in Detroit, and experienced the ol’ West in Ft. Worth. Thank you to all of you who showed me around your hometowns, I had loads of fun. As I look forward to 2008, that’s the one thing I’d like to do more. There are so many wonderful cities that I’d like to visit. I look forward to making knew friendships and visiting with everyone I’ve met this past year. I wish all of you and yours a very happy holiday season and an even better 2008!
