Merv Griffin’s Crosswords video game
January 10, 2008
As I’ve mentioned before, I love my job. But the one bad thing about hosting Merv Griffin’s Crosswords is that I could never play Merv Griffin’s Crosswords. Not so anymore because top game designer, THQ is currently creating Merv Griffin’s Crosswords -- the video game. Ever since I was a young boy I’ve always wanted to have my own action figure, but this is way better than any Kung-Fu grip. Finally I can play along and match wits with friends and other solvers from around the country. I can’t tell you how excited I am to play the bonus round. Now I’ll just have to get past asking everyone I know if that’s how I really look.
Also, you may remember last week I mentioned that I would be doing red carpet commentary for the Golden Globes and Dick Clark Productions. I was very excited. I had my tuxedo cleaned and pressed, I picked out a new tie and I even got my hair cut. I was all set to rub elbows with the Hollywood elite. Who knows, maybe I could even convince Brad and Angelina to adopt me next. Well, not so fast. It looks like I am guilty of breaking the golden rule of professional entertainers, “Never talk about a job before it happens.” It seems that the Golden Globe gala event has been canceled and will be replaced by a press statement announcing the winners. Gee, that sounds exciting. I sincerely hope that the producers and the writers will be able to come to some sort of agreement quickly and get back to the business of giving us great entertainment.
