NAB Adds Search Function to LPTVAnswers.com
Web surfers can enter ZIP codes, locate low-power TV stations in their markets.

The National Association of Broadcasters added a new search function on its LPTVAnswers.com site to help viewers find the low-power TV stations in their markets.
Low-power stations don't have to make the switch to digital Feb. 17, 2009, and lobby group the Community Broadcasters Association is concerned that viewers will not know they can still get those analog signals.
Web surfers can now plug their ZIP codes into a field on LPTVAnswers.com and find the low-power stations in their area.
“We are pleased to provide this information in a user-friendly format to help viewers know whether some of their programming comes from low-power stations and to prepare for the DTV transition accordingly,” NAB president David Rehr said in announcing the new feature.
It comes just in time for viewers in Wilmington, N.C., since that market is making the transition early, Sept. 8, although at least one low-power, CBS affiliate WILM-LP, will make the digital switch along with the full-power stations.
