Variety show Hee Haw will return to a regular weekly television slot for the first time in more than 10 years on rural-targeted cable network RFD-TV.
Vintage episodes will anchor the network’s Sunday-night lineup at 8 p.m. (EST) and repeat Monday mornings.
Hee Haw debuted on CBS June 15, 1969, as a summer replacement for the Smothers Brothers Show and it ran for more than 20 years.
Country-music stars who made guest appearances included George Jones, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette and Hank Williams Jr.
“Hee Haw should be of particular interest to RFD-TV viewers, as this classic show, by far, has been the No. 1 request to be added to our program lineup for the past three years,” RFD-TV founder and president Patrick Gottsch said in a statement.
