Fox Business Network tapped The Wall Street Journal technology columnist Walt Mossberg to appear on a weekly tech segment, the network said Tuesday.
Mossberg will appear every Thursday on FBN during the 11 a.m. hour, discussing his column and other technology news of the day.
The addition of Mossberg is of particular note because he had been a regular contributor to CNBC, as part of the deal that network had with the Wall Street Journal. The FBN deal will likely mean the end of Mossberg's appearances on CNBC.
News Corp., which owns FBN, completed its acquisition of the Journal in December.
The addition of Mossberg is one of the most significant moves so far to combine the resources of the newspaper and the nascent network.
While FBN competitor CNBC has a cross-branding deal with the Journal, the agreement only covers business news.
At a Goldman Sachs conference before the acquisition, News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch said that if he acquired the Journal, he would make full use of its reporters and columnists in areas that were not covered by the CNBC agreement, including the lifestyle arena.
