ION Media Networks will expand its lineup April 7, bringing on The Steve Harvey Show, Family Feud and Quantum Leap.
The moves will lengthen ION Television’s entertainment block by one hour.
Steve Harvey is a comedy about a music teacher at a diverse Chicago high school. Family Feud will feature host John O’Hurley from the 2006-07 season,. And Quantum Leap is an Emmy Award-winning science-fiction drama starring Scott Bakula. ION obtained all 96 Leap episodes from NBC Universal. The show aired from 1989-93.
Chairman and CEO Brandon Burgess hinted at some bigger-name acquisitions for the fall lineup.
“These programming additions create a fun and diverse summer schedule on a path to positioning the network for broad audiences this fall,” he said. “We’re committed to upgrading and expanding our lineup as part of our promise to clients and distributors to create a network with a leading audience value proposition.”
ION also launches Total Theatre Thursdays this summer, featuring classic films such as Blade Runner and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
