An MSNBC staffer was killed early Wednesday morning when she was struck by a garbage truck while crossing the street.
Jennifer McNamara, a 29-year-old technical-operations staffer for the cable news network, had just left Rockefeller Center at 2:30 a.m. following Tuesday night’s primary coverage when she was hit while crossing the intersection of West 50th Street and Seventh Avenue.
The driver told the Daily News he hadn’t seen anyone in the crosswalk. According to the newspaper, McNamara was one of two pedestrians struck and killed that night.
TVNewser posted an e-mail from a colleague of McNamara’s who said she "should be recognized and remembered for the wonderful person she was. She will be greatly missed by the tech staff."
MSNBC anchor Dan Abrams paid tribute to McNamara Thursday night, calling her "one of the most liked people at 30 Rock."
