TBS Adds Eight Episodes of Frank TV

Late-Night Comedy to Rejoin Cable Network’s Schedule Later this Year

By John Eggerton -- Broadcasting & Cable, 2/21/2008 1:50:00 PM

TBS picked up eight more episodes of Frank TV, the late-night comedy show featuring comedian and impressionist Frank Caliendo (MadTV).

Frank TV

Caliendo is best known for dead-on impressions of football commentator John Madden and President George W. Bush.

TBS said the show, which launched in November, has been averaging 2.1 million viewers and 1.4 million adults 18-49, both "enormous" improvements for its late-night time period.

Caliendo did his Bush impression at a White House correspondents’ dinner, where an impressed Donald Rumsfeld, then still Secretary of Defense, was overheard to suggest that he might want to perform at the Pentagon.

Frank TV will return to the network’s schedule later this year.
