American Idol continued to clean up Wednesday night, averaging a 12.6 rating/30 share, again far more than all of the other networks combined (7.8/18). But that rating and share was down considerably from the 15.4/36 Idol scored in its second outing of 2007.
In the race for distant second, NBC was the clear winner, averaging a 3/7 and led by Law & Order at 10 p.m. with a 3.6/9, the second-highest-rated show of the night. It also scored a 3.1/8 with Deal or No Deal up against Idol from 8 p.m.-9 p.m.
ABC was third with a 2.2/5, led by Supernanny (2.5/6) from 9 p.m.-10 p.m.
CBS was fourth with a 2/5 for the third installment of Comanche Moon (2.4/6) and Power of 10, which didn't make much headway against Idol, averaging only a 1.1/3 from 8 p.m.-9 p.m.
The CW was fifth with a 0.6/1 for Crowned and a repeat of Gossip Girl.
