Ex-FCC Media Bureau Chief Ferree to Head Progress & Freedom Foundation

Think Tank Taps Former Federal Communications Commission Media Bureau Chief

Former Federal Communications Commission Media Bureau chief Ken Ferree joined free-market think tank the Progress & Freedom Foundation as its new president.

Ferree, whose first day was Wednesday, replaced Tom Lenard, who exited at the end of September to join another think tank, i-Growth Global.

Ferree had been with California law firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, which he joined after exiting the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in late 2005, where he had been chief operating officer and interim CEO.

Ferree was with the FCC from 2001-05, and his name has come up in recent Hill hearings on media ownership.
