Promax/BDA, the association that caters to television’s promotions and marketing professionals, chose Jonathan Block-Verk as its new president, effective in January.
He replaces Lee Hunt, who had been serving as the interim head of the group since February, after Jim Chabin was ousted for reasons never made clear. Chabin ran Promax/BDA from 1992-99 and again from 2003 until his departure.
Block-Verk is vice president/group publisher and executive producer of events for Toronto-based monthly Boards magazine, which serves the commercial-production industry. Boards features a slick Web site and sponsors various conferences.
