Price: $280 million

Buyer: Cox Radio Inc., Atlanta (Robert F. Neil, president); owns/is buying 63 other FMs and 17 AMs, including WSB-AM-FM Atlanta, WBTS(FM) Athens/Atlanta, WFOX(FM) Gainesville/Atlanta and WJZF(FM) La Grange/Atlanta. Note: Upon Sept. 5 closing of this deal, Cox swapped WALR-FM and two AMs for Salem Communications Corp.'s KKHT(FM) Conroe/ Houston, Texas ("Changing Hands," June 12). Seller: Midwestern Broadcasting Co. Inc., Atlanta (Lewis Dickey Sr., principal); owns three AMs. Note: Dickey is the father of Lewis W. Jr. and John W. Dickey, president and executive vice president, respectively, of Cumulus Media Inc., which owns five FMs and two AMs in Toledo, Ohio.

Facilities: 104.7 MHz, 100 kW, ant. 981 ft.

Format: Urban contemporary

WMEZ(FM) Pensacola and WXBM-FM Milton/Pensacola, Fla.

Price: $43.95 million

Buyer: Pamal Broadcasting Ltd., Latham, N.Y. (James J. Morrell, chairman/owner); owns/is buying 11 other FMs and six AMs, including four in Florida

Seller: Clear Channel (see Combo item, above); owns WJTC(TV) Pensacola/Mobile, Ala., WPMI(TV) Mobile/Pensacola and WTKX-FM Pensacola; has JSA with WYCL(FM) Pensacola. Note: Urban Radio Licenses LLC planned to buy wmez and WXBM-FM, which are among spinoffs of Clear Channel's merger with AMFM Inc.

Facilities: wmez: 94.1 MHz, 100 kW, ant. 1,328 ft.; WXBM-FM: 102.7 MHz, 100 kW, ant. 1,328 ft.

WKBH-FM La Crosse, Wis.

Price: $2,335,500

Buyer: Mississippi Valley Broadcasters LLC, Onalaska, Wis. (Howard G. Bill, president/46.5% managing member; Kenneth L. Ramsey, 46.5% member); owns KQEG(FM), wlfn(am), WLXR-FM and WQCC(FM) La Crosse. Bill owns kolm(am)-kwwk(fm) Rochester and KLCX(FM) St. Charles/Rochester, Minn. Ramsey owns KTRN(FM) White Hall/Pine Bluff, Ark., and KRBL(FM) Idalou/Lubbock, Texas.

Seller: DN Communications Inc., La Crescent (Patrick Delaney, president). Delaney owns 51% of company that owns KGRA(FM) Jefferson and KKRF(FM) Stuart, Iowa, and 50% of company that owns WKBH(AM) Holmen/La Crosse and WFBZ(FM) Trempealeau/La Crosse. Note: DN acquired WKBH-FM for $48,000 in 1993

Facilities: 100.1 MHz, 3.6 kW, ant. 426 ft.
