Where to be and what to watch...

Monday, Feb. 13

Attending a conference over Valentine’s Day might not sit well with some significant others, but that’s not stopping the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE), who get together for their annual expo today through Thursday in Orlando, Fla. National Geographic Channel has its own take on tomorrow’s Hallmark holiday, offering Naked Science: What’s Sexy? (9 p.m. ET), which examines exactly what it is about people that turns us on. And who let the dogs out at Madison Square Garden? It’s the 130th running of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, airing on USA (8 p.m.). Can a perky Pekingese named Champion Yakee If Only (Jeffrey, to his friends), who’s charming judges at warm-up events, scoop up Best in Show?

Tuesday, Feb. 14

Speaking of classy barkers, a daytime institution goes prime time as CBS airs The Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectacular (8 p.m.). Bob Barker, who has been host since Nixon had a favorable approval rating, will share the stage with six Barker’s Beauties and, if we’re lucky, the yodeling guy in lederhosen who falls off the cliff after someone overshoots the price of a modular sofa. Speaking of daytime institutions, Judy Sheindlin, star of court show Judge Judy and acclaimed author of Don’t Pee on My Leg and Tell Me It’s Raining, gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, then a rocking New York-themed party back at Paramount Studios.

Wednesday, Feb. 15

It’s the National Television Summit in Beverly Hills, presented by the Advertising Club of Los Angeles and sponsored by B&C, Multichannel NewsandVariety. B&C exec editor Mark Robichaux moderates Looking to the Future: The ROI of Branded Entertainment & Multi-Platform Programming, and E! chief Ted Harbert, among others, graces the panel. For your viewing pleasure, there’s the 2006 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Special on Spike (10 p.m.), hosted by model Anne V. And for your reading pleasure, a book party for Edward Hayes, whose Mouthpiece tome details the renegade attorney’s exploits in defending murderers, socialites and murderous socialites. Court TV hosts at the McManus Midtown Democratic Association in Manhattan.

Thursday, Feb. 16

The Biography Channel celebrates Black History Month with a heartfelt profile of guitar god James Marshall “Jimi” Hendrix (8 p.m.), while CSTV offers up a less Hollywood version of the film Glory Road. The documentary Glory in Black and White: The Story of the 1966 NCAA Basketball Champions (8 p.m.) depicts the historic hoops showdown between all-black Texas Western and all-white Kentucky for the national title.

Friday, Feb. 17

Professional oddball Kinky Friedman debuts his reality show, Go Kinky, on CMT (11 p.m.) tonight. Bill Clinton and Willie Nelson make cameos and support Friedman in his bid to become governor of Texas. (Will the Kinkster pull a Dubya and parlay that to the presidency?) Elsewhere in the Lone Star State, some 6,000 broadcasters are descending on Dallas for the National Religious Broadcasters confab at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center. Topics include Beyond Hollywood: Independent Filmmaking From a Faith Perspective (“hold on to your 10-gallon hat,” warns the brochure). Forget podcasting; let’s talk about Godcasting!
