Olympic Hindsight, With Humorous Gibes

On FOX News Channel's The O'Reilly Factor Oct. 27, host Bill O'Reilly tweaked NBC's Bob Costas for NBC's less-than-advertised ratings for the games, and suggested that, with the fall of communism, Americans now don't have enough athletes to root against.

When Reilly suggested that future NBC coverage should create more villains, Costas replied, "Oh, believe me, we're not above trying." NBC, of course, was criticized for its maudlin profiles of athletes.
