John Calley, chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment, stepped down from his post to produce films, and he will run a production company based on Sony’s lot.
Calley’s departure will leave the studio’s management to three executives: Amy Pascal, chairman of Columbia Pictures; Jeff Blake, president of worldwide marketing and distribution for Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group; and Yair Landau, president of Sony Pictures Digital. All three will report directly to Howard Stringer, chairman and CEO for Sony Corp. of America.
As head of SPE, Calley was in charge of Sony’s film and TV productions, but his departure won’t change much for Sony’s TV executives. Steve Mosko, president of Sony Pictures Television, will continue to report to Landau.
