NAMIC Fills Out Board of Directors

National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications Appoints Nine New Members, Re-Elects 10

The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications Monday announced the appointment of nine newly elected and 10 re-elected members to its board of directors.

NAMIC also announced that A&E Television Networks vice president of distribution and business development Mark Garner was named treasurer.

The new board members for the organization -- which focuses on multiethnic diversity in the communications industry -- are: Kenetta Bailey, senior vice president, marketing, WE tv; Matthew de Ganon, VP, broadband and consumer applications, The Weather Channel Interactive; Mark Horn, principal, Deloitte Consulting; Mark Kang, VP, The Sportsman Channel; Tracy Lawrence, executive director, Russell Reynolds Associates; Filemon Lopez, regional senior VP, south Florida region, Comcast; Reinaldo Llano, director, community relations, Bright House Networks; Joiava Philpott, corporate VP and senior counsel, government affairs and legislative policy, Charter Communications; and Danielle Wade, VP of customer service and marketing, Bright House Networks.

The re-elected board members were: Valeria Arana, director, consumer marketing, Telemundo; Michael Cooper, VP, marketing and ad sales, Fox Cable Networks; Clara Felix, VP, consumer research, Showtime Networks; Raymond Gutierrez, executive VP, human resources and administration, Showtime Networks; Veronica Hutchinson, VP, programming, BET; Brigitte McCray, senior VP of programming and scheduling, Oxygen Media; Sandra Murillo Weber, VP of multicultural market development, Turner Broadcasting System; Loretta Polk, VP and associate general counsel, National Cable & Telecommunications Association; Winston Warrior, director of marketing services, Cox Enterprises; and Akihiko Washington, senior VP, worldwide HR, Warner Bros. Entertainment.
