Couric to Host B&C Hall of Fame

CBS Evening News anchor and managing editor Katie Couric has been named host of the 18th annual Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame awards dinner. This year's gala event will take place at New York's Waldorf-Astoria on Oct. 21.
“It is my great privilege to be hosting this year's Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame Awards, an event that for nearly 20 years both commemorates great television and honors television's greatest pioneers,” Couric says.
Couric herself became a member of the Hall of Fame in 2001. Among the honorees this year are her former Today show co-host, Matt Lauer, and one of her current employers, 60 Minutes.
“Having a personality like Katie Couric as host is the perfect addition to this year's powerhouse lineup of inductees,” says B&C editor Ben Grossman.
