Survivor II pulls em in

CBS has signed up nine sponsors, each ponying up around $12 million for the second Survivor series, set in the Australian Outback, sources say. That's about three times what the sponsors of last summer's original series paid. Survivor II debuts Jan. 28 after the Super Bowl. Two of the sponsors are new: Mountain Dew and Cingular Wireless. They effectively replace Ericsson and the U.S. Army, which sponsored the show last summer but didn't re-up. Returning sponsors include Bud Light, Visa, Target, Doritos, Dr. Scholl's, Pontiac Aztec and Reebok. In addition to the sponsorships, spot ads will be in the show. The first episode is sold out, sources say.
