Pegasus Sues DirecTV Over Patent

DBS provider Pegasus Communications filed a patent-infringement lawsuit last week against DirecTV and DirecPC parent Hughes Electronics. The suit, filed in conjunction with interactive-TV firm Personalized Media Communications, alleges that DirecTV, Hughes Electronics and consumer-electronics manufacturers Thomson and Philips infringed on intellectual property relating to pay-per-view authorization and electronic-program guides that Pegasus licensed from Personalized Media last January.
