More than 2 million people tuned in to CNN's Black in America Wednesday night.

Black in America led CNN to a victory over cable news competitors Fox News Channel and MSNBC in the 9 p.m.-11 p.m. time period.
The documentary series premiered in April to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the murder of Martin Luther King Jr. The first installment, Eyewitness to Murder, was a re-examination of that event and drew 1.2 million viewers, 438,000 of them in news' key demographic of 25- to 54-year-olds.
Wednesday night's installment, The Black Woman & Family, examined contemporary issues. It was watched by 2.1 million people, according to preliminary numbers from Nielsen, with 966,000 of them 25-54.
The accompanying Black in America Web site racked up more than 2.4 million page views since July 22, while iReport.com’s Black in America assignment generated more than 700 user videos with 67 of them posted since Wednesday night’s telecast.
The third and final installment, Black in America:The Black Man, airs Thursday at 9 p.m.

I tuned in to look at the program and found it interesting. My only problem was that more positive black americans could have been included in the program. By including more positive black role models, this will give those who are already on the negative road an example to look at and to say "I can be like this other black american and be another positive influence on the up coming generation".

Ms. Rese missed it, purpose was to inform not entertain. the facts are what they, you are the solution. Minister Louis Farrakhan God bless him has been telling us this for years. Oh that's right, you don't want to hear it comming for a truth teller.

Did not like the show, I think this is another way to make black people continue to look bad. Think, If you have never met a black person and you saw this show what would you think of black people? would you want to be one? would you want to be around them? would you hire them for your jobs? This is another way to dampin the spirits of black people and keep them sad and hopeless. we need to see the solutions, not shows like this
