CNN's Anderson Cooper Goes Interactive
By Caroline Palmer -- Broadcasting & Cable, 12/5/2006 12:44:00 PM
Launched earlier this week, Anderson Cooper 360's new interactive site greets users with a Flash-enabled greeting from the host who serves as a tour guide for the many varied aspects of the site.
On the site, users can access behind-the-scenes videos of both Cooper and of his program, AC360. There will also be photos, features from Cooper's reporters notebook, and footage of his most recent assignments in Afghanistan, Israel and Turkey, among others. And for those interested in Anderson as much as they are interested in the news, there is even a playlist of the CNNers favorite songs, biographical information, and AC360-branded instant messaging icons. To drum up excitement about the site, CNN has also sponsored a sweepstakes, AC360 "Takes You Live" that will give viewers a chance to win a trip to New York and take a tour of the studio and program.

Hey Anderson,
I am quite put off with all this 'idealistic rhetoric' about U.S. training and embedding into the Iraqui military...First you have to have a true Iraqui military which to date they have failed to demonstrate. I have a son fighting in Baghdad. His training consisted of six weeks of BootCamp and a couple months at Ft Drum and sent over to fight insurgents house to house, hand to hand...dodge mortar fires and try to survive the IEDs and HEDs. He is a young man of courage and committment but NOT a lot of training...yet doing his job well. Why would we send our own troops so poorely trained, no experience and inadequately prepared for this unique kind of warfare and yet feel compelled that we need to give a years of training to the Iraquis? Our son has been on assignments with Iraquis and has repeatedly found them to "take off running scared" while our American troops 'take a kneee' and return fire on the snipers and insurgents. I'm not sure you can train or teach courage and integrity...it obviously is part of the American way but not shared by those whose sectarian issues divide their loyalties and diminish their committment to anything or anyone but rather they function out of self preservation OR dying a martyr. Doesn't sound 'trainable' to me! Katie Dunn, Ft Myers FL

Hi. Does Anderson Cooper have a picture of him and his boyfriend making out? I would love to see that!!! Is his new interactive site going to be for gays only?
