CPB Taps Zelman

Dr. Susan Tave Zelman to oversee educational and children's content for Corporation for Public Broadcasting as senior vice president.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting named Dr. Susan Tave Zelman to oversee educational and children's content as senior vice president.

Susan Tave Zelman

Zelman has been the superintendent of public instruction for the state of Ohio.

In her new post, she will oversee CPB grants to the Department of Education-backed Ready to Learn project, a multifaceted effort to encourage reading in young children,

The CPB is the private nonprofit corporation created by Congress to give out federal grants to noncommercial TV and radio that make up about 15% of their funding.
