Lifetime Television Hires Disney Channel’s Garner

Scott Garner Joins Women’s Network as Senior VP, Planning and Scheduling

Lifetime Television nabbed Disney Channel's Scott Garner to be senior vice president, planning and scheduling, based in Los Angeles.

Garner is former senior VP of programming at Disney, where he helped to schedule Hannah Montana, Lizzie McGuire and the High School Musical franchise.

Garner will oversee scheduling of Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network and Lifetime Real Women, as well as handling long-form film and off-network-series acquisitions for Lifetime Networks.

He reports to Lifetime Entertainment president Susanne Daniels.

Before joining Disney in 1999, he was director of research for Cartoon Network.

  Dear Sir or Madam,
  
  Having loved the Lifetime channel for a number of years and praising this chanel for all its fine programming, I find myself compelled to lodge a complaint regarding your 11:00 to 12:30 PM programming nightly, so you may rectify it with changes. It is syndicated comedy programming at this time, but realistically running a series five times over, ie: Will & Grace and Fraiser, gets to be boring enough to make me and I'm certain others turn to other stations. There are other syndicated programs! I suggest some old stuff that people of this newer generation have not seen but still apply tp the times, such as "21 Jump Street" with Johnny Depp and Holly Robinson, "Banachek" with George Peppard from the 1970's might make for reaching the audience with some excitement, Just dig your archives for something, anything. Your station WAS the best in that time slot, but Yawn, yawn, how many times must one watch the same thing over and over and over and over?
