Telemundo Communications Group hired Time Warner publishing and TV executive Jacqueline Hernandez as its chief operating officer, based in New York, where she will report to the Hispanic broadcaster’s president, Don Browne.

Hernandez leaves Time Warner’s publishing arm, where she was publisher of People en Español, the best-selling Hispanic magazine in the United States. Earlier, she held various posts at Time Warner’s Turner International, which she joined in 2000.
“Her extensive knowledge of the Hispanic market, her experience in multimedia platforms and her outstanding reputation in the industry will be important contributions to our team,” Browne said in a statement.
Telemundo is owned by NBC Universal. Hernandez currently sits on the board of the Emmys en Español and New York City’s Latin Entertainment Commission.
