CW Pulls Plug On Gilmore Girls
By Ben Grossman -- Broadcasting & Cable, 5/3/2007 10:18:00 AM
The CW today said it will not be bringing back veteran drama, The Gilmore Girls.
The network and Warner Bros. released the following joint statement:
"Announcing the final season of Gilmore Girls is truly a sad moment for everyone at The CW and Warner Bros. Television. "This series helped define a network and created a fantastic, storybook world featuring some of television's most memorable, lovable characters. We thank Amy Sherman-Palladino, Dan Palladino, Dave Rosenthal, the amazing cast led by Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as well as the producers, writers and crew for giving us this delightful gem for the past seven years. We would also like to thank the critics and 'Gilmore' fans for their passionate support and promise to give this series the send off it deserves."
The show's return had been on the fence, reportedly in part due to pay disputes with its two leads, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel.
The show’s finale will air Tuesday, May 15, at 8 p.m. ET.

It was sad to see the show end, I live in the uk, and im a carer for my disabled daughter, watching the gilmore girls was an hour escapism for me, loved evertything about them. show sooo good make you felt like Lorelai and Sukie were your best friends. And my 18myh son comes a running when he hears the theme tune. Where you lead. Love and really miss you guys 3yrs on please do a five year later show or movie for all the die hard fans, god if they can bring back the A team and all other shows why cant't you bring back the best, and I miss Luke and Jess my yum yum eye candy.

Wonder if they would keep it on air if we started a petition....They can't cancel the show. It's the only time me and my mom ever have together anymore since she got custody of my nephew. If they cancel the show what happens to that hour when me and my mom spend time together? I'm sure a lot of people can agree with this....so let's start a petition!
