NBC scored big with its National Football League coverage, winning the night in the 18-49 demo Sunday with the New England Patriots’ down-to-the-wire victory over the visiting Philadelphia Eagles.

NBC averaged a 6 rating/14 share for the night, according to Nielsen Media Research overnight numbers. That figure could bump up a bit when the West Coast returns come in.
ABC was a strong second at a 5/12, led by Desperate Housewives at a 6.9/15 from 9 p.m.-10 p.m.
CBS was third with a 4.3/10, topped by a football runover from 7 p.m.-8 p.m., which averaged a 6.5/17 to easily win the hour.
Fox was fourth with a 3.6/8, with its animated sitcoms facing some of their toughest competition of the season. For example, for the 8 p.m.-9 p.m. hour, all of the Big Four averaged bigger than a 4 rating.
Sticking with the "four" theme, The CW averaged a 0.4 rating and 1 share for its lightly viewed lineup.
