Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) was on Fox News Channel and MSNBC Monday night. But apparently, more viewers would rather watch the Democratic nominee on Fox News.

Bill O'Reilly's interview with Obama on Monday's The O'Reilly Factor at 8 p.m. was watched by 4.57 million viewers (1.14 million in news' target demographic of 25- to 54-year-olds). That's more than double the number of viewers who tuned in to see Keith Olbermann interviewing Obama on MSNBC's Countdown (1.92 million viewers, 607,000 in the demo).
CNN's Election Center, anchored by Campbell Brown, was third in the 8 p.m. hour (1.02 million, 412,000).
Monday's program was the third-highest-rated O'Reilly Factor of the year behind Thursday's program, which featured the first part of O'Reilly's interview with Obama, and last Wednesday's show, which led into Fox News' coverage of the Republican convention and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's speech.
Additionally, Fox News documentary Gov. Palin: American Woman, which aired Saturday at 8 p.m., stands as the network's most-watched primetime documentary ever, averaging 2.73 million viewers with 673,000 in the demo.

The only reason people tuned in to watch O'Riley is because he is generally so rude and intolerant of anyone he disagrees with that people wanted to see how Obama would do. I think it's sad that people want so badly to hate Obama and the Democratic party that they kid themselves into thinking O'Riley's fair and unbiased. The tone on Fox news is so predominantly right winged that the viewers don't even realize how misinformed they are. Even the major news channels had Republican commentators during the Dem's convention but no Democratic commentators during the Republican convention. Wake up, people. You're getting duped.

I'm no fan of O'Reilly's - but Dr. Tantillo ('the marketing doctor' -
blog.marketingdoctor.tv ) just did a post naming O'Reilly this week's
brand 'winner,' thanks to his interview of Obama.
Tantillo argues that, through this interview, "[O'Reilly] has broadened
Fox's audience by showing that this network (often characterized by
Democrats as biased) might actually be more fair and balanced than
they think —still aggressive but fair."
I didn't catch either O'Reilly's interview of Olbermann's, but if I were
choosing between the two, I would watch O'Reilley's too--simply
because I think it'd be more interesting to see an interview in which
the interviewer is less sympathetic to the interviewee's viewpoints.
Here's a link to Tantillo's full post:

Bill O'Reily's interveiw of Barack Obama was shameless! He sometimes asked the most ridiculous questions and then interrupted constantly, not letting Obama even begin to answer. I couldn't believe it. At least on his blog he admitted that he did believe that Obama was sincere in wanting to help change America for the better. This is something I believe McCain is not. All I see from McCain is a series of strategic manuevers to win over the voters, with very little substance.

O'Reilly interview was great....Obama could not effectively address a number of key questions asked by Bill. What a breath of fresh air to see someone in the media finally not coddle Obama.....Obermann might learn something one day by taking O'Reilly's lead. His inteview was simply pathetic...same old cannedand soft questions as from most MSNBC commentators.
