Two-Hour Sequel to 1980s TV Show to Replace Pontiac Trans-Am with Ford Mustang Shelby

Knight Rider, the legendary 1980s TV show starting David Hasselhoff and a talking car, is getting a makeover. NBC will debut a two-hour sequel to the show Feb. 17.

In the new Knight Rider, KITT, the technologically advanced sports car, which was a Pontiac Trans-Am in the original series, is being resurrected as a Ford Mustang Shelby. Ford signed an agreement with NBC to make the Shelby the star automobile of the movie and bring the company on as a major sponsor.
The made-for-TV movie stars Justin Bruening, Deanna Russo, Sydney Tamiia Portier and Bruce Davison. Will Arnett of Arrested Development will be providing the voice of KITT. Hasselhoff will make a guest appearance as Michael Knight, reprising his earlier role.
The new Knight Rider will debut on NBC Feb.17 at 9 p.m.

What happened with the knight rider from a year ago? That seemed pretty decent. I watched a few minutes of this new version to be totally turned off. It seemed cheesy right away, and then I heard Kit and that was it. First of all, Kit sounds like he was recorded in a sound booth. Which is really annoying since everyone else sounds like they are in the room whereever they are. Remember in the old show Kit sounded like he was coming from a speaker? It's not necessary to make it sound like a small tinny speaker like the old show, but it sounds too perfect in this new one. The voice is also too flat. Kit from the 80's had personality! The new voice alone will make you want to turn this one off.

Who's stupid idea was it to use a mustang for KITT.
If they were going to do away with Trans Am, then KITT would be much better as one of the new challengers. the mustang is a great car, but the way they dressed this one up for KITT is weak. And the rims are the ugliest thing i have ever seen...and if what is being said is true about a new voice....did they even ask William Daniels....Iam very disappointed so far.

I agree with most of you; replacing the trans am and the actors is going to make the show crappy. It will be like a pirate copy of the show.
